Oh hey!

So my name is Alysia
(it's pronounced "Ah-Leesha")

Weird right?

I love camping, a last minute plan, a good rainstorm, late night conversations around a fire, turning strangers into friends, and just overall enjoying the spectrum of this human experience.

I can be super awkward - and not even the cool, endearing kind of awkward - more like, the raw, aggressive strain of awkward that you pray you will outgrow by the time you leave high school, but then it stays...and you have to learn to embrace it.

I'm a really tiny person. I will probably climb on
random things or contort myself into strange positions
to get the shot I want.
There will probably be some weird stunts that go down in order to make that photographic magic happen.

I will cry at every wedding
because I'm a huge sap.
Personal vows, slide shows, and your family's speeches will get me every time.

I was a wedding photographer for years but am currently taking a break to focus on events,
marketing, personal branding, and creative work.

In a nutshell:

- Tea drinker
- Night thinker
- Foodie
- Hot sauce connoisseur
- Aliens
- Anything paranormal
- Collector of cool mugs
- Gardening
- Book worm
- Often lost down some weird
research rabbit hole
and will share very strange
information in general conversation

my work

I grew up in Penticton, BC but currently live in Athabasca, Alberta.
I travel between both provinces frequently so I serve clients in both areas.

My approach to photography is definitely more on the photojournalistic side.
I love to be witness to the beauty of unposed moments - to see the interaction among a gathering of loved ones and move in the natural flow of events surrounding your
time together, but I will also take the time to guide my clients through creative posing and use prompts to create emotional responses and expression.

I find my work's purpose in capturing those fleeting expressions and the tiny fragments and subtleties that make us who we are. I believe the photos we leave behind are a huge part of our legacy, and I hold strongly the importance of investing in a photographer who you feel a connection to and who understands the value of capturing your life's most
precious moments.

Thanks so much for taking the time to get to know me!
I can't wait to hear from you.
